Your Machine.
Now It Can See.
FarmDefender is FarmTech's machine vision platform — AI-powered optics for any farm implement. Today: weeds and rocks. Tomorrow: anything that requires the machine to see what it's doing.
FarmDefender Weed — See It. Kill It. Save Everything Else.
Boom-mounted cameras and on-board edge AI identify weeds at field speed and trigger individual nozzles. No spray on clean ground. Chemical savings up to 90% on fallow and pre-emergence passes.
- Any sprayer boom 60'–132'
- Installs in a day
- Compatible with major ISOBUS nozzle and section-control systems
How it works
Cameras mounted along the boom feed live imagery into an on-board neural processor running directly on the machine. Inference latency is under 30ms — well inside the window needed to trigger a nozzle before the plant passes under it. No connectivity required. No round-trip to a server. The decision happens on the boom.
Individual nozzle control means the unit that sees a weed fires. The units that see clean ground stay closed. That's the difference between section control and true nozzle-level precision.
FarmDefender Rock — Map What's Under the Surface.
Depth-sensing cameras map rock density and surface features as the machine passes. Data flows into FarmIQ. Know what's coming before your toolbar finds it the hard way.
- Protect seeding equipment
- Plan tillage passes
- Build a permanent rock map of every field
Already running on an 84' seeder in Saskatchewan — mapping every rock, first season in the ground.
Permanent field intelligence
Each pass adds to a cumulative rock-density map stored in FarmIQ. Over time, you build a complete picture of where the rocks are, how dense they are, and which areas of each field require the most caution. That map is yours — it doesn't disappear when you trade equipment, change operators, or switch platforms.
The depth-sensing approach catches surface and near-surface rocks that tire-track surveys miss. It's the difference between knowing a field has rocks and knowing exactly where they are.
The Platform Is Open.
We built FarmDefender as a platform, not a product. Any task that requires the machine to see — stand counts, canopy mapping, drainage features, soil texture variation — is a FarmDefender application. We're two years into this. We're not done imagining it.
The same edge inference stack that identifies weeds can be trained for any visual classification task. The same nozzle control layer can trigger any implement output. New FarmDefender applications are a model-training and integration problem — the hard infrastructure is already on the boom.
